There are quite a few good web pages. The one that Jim Peavler put together for Albuquerque Zen Centre is quite good, and it points to all kinds of valuable resources. The FWBO has a good web page. I think that if one has access to Netscape or some other good web browser, one can find a lot of very good resources, including the award-winning Journal of Buddhist Ethics.

BUDDHIST........ is pretty good most of the time. There are some very good writers and thinkers here who know quite a lot about various aspects of Buddhism. Even when I have very little time to write anything myself (such as nowadays), I always enjoy reading this forum. And for academics
BUDDHA-L is a pretty good discussion forum.
Depending on who's online the #BUDDHISM and #TIBET irc channel (dalnet) is sometimes very interesting and entertaining, but yet again it depends on the people attending. The best you could find is to find out about informal and other mailing list dedicated to various Buddhist topics.
